Hotel facilities and room where perfect. very friendly and heplful staff. a la carte breakfast was wunderful. nice, large pool. the hotel is a bit remote to skytrain but a shuttle service is available.

Bangkok s really cool hotel. Great organic food restaurant...amazing drinks. Big beautiful rooms. Great Spa. Great location. Walk to the night market. Perfect staff. This place has it all. A bit pricey but a welcome change from the Peninsula or Oriental.

ACCOMMODATION
The hotel's 171 rooms, share a cosseting, contemporary
style by Kathryn Kng, a Singapore-based interior design practice.
The look is fresh without being ferociously savant grade, acknowledging
influences from both the east and west.
The simple, ample volumes are flooded with light, manipulated by
lighting architects, Isometric, London.
Natural materials include Makha wood from Thailand, combined with
oxidized brass paneling.
Paintings are also featured, by Natee Utarit, an up-and-coming artist
at the cutting edge of Asia's art scene. Utarit's images, hung throughout
the hotel, give depth to the otherwise clean-lined spaces

is flanked by a simple but large L-shaped teak wood bench in these comfortable,
airy rooms that reflect the Metropolitan's clean-lined, contemporary

Oversized beds are flanked by a generous teak wood bench in these, the
largest deluxe king or twin-bedded rooms in Bangkok. A Ming-style chair
from natural teak and rattan is a unique feature of the Metropolitan
Room. The large bathrooms are decorated with off-white limestone and
mosaic tiles, each featuring a separate shower and bathtub.

With a Michelin star for his Thai restaurant
in London, Australian chef David Thompson is a worldclass talent when
it comes to the finest nunces of this explosive, flavourful cuisine.
At nahm Bangkok (opening in July 2010), diners can expect proper Thai
food done really well in warmly contemporary environs.
The dishes
are like the food eaten at home-relaxed, generous and authentic, combining
juice and spice, sweet and sour. Menus showcase some of the best market-fresh
produce in the world, all carefully put together by Thompson and his
experienced team.
For breakfast and healthy all-day dining,
Glow serves COMO Shambhala's signature wellness cuisine while the Met
Bar features modern Asian dishes in club-like environs, every plate
that emerges from our kitchens overseen by another talented Australian,
Executive Chef Chris Miller.

David Thompson, famed for Michelin-starred nahm restaurant at The Halkin
hotel in London, will be opening his first restaurant in Bangkok this
Summer. Serving authentic Thai food, this major new address for the
capital will be popular with both hotel guests and Bangkok residents.
However, many new dishes will make their appearance such as:
- 'pat plaa meuk gap tua
warn' - stir fried baby squid with sugar snap peas
Baby squid cleaned and scored, stir-fried with sugar snap peas,
garlic. It is somewhat dark in colour because of ink from the squid.
- 'yam dtakrai'
- lemongrass salad with pork and grilled prawns, toasted coconut
and squid This salad comes from Singhburi in the northern part of
the Central plains. It is an aromatic salad - salty, sharp, somewhat
spicy.
- 'geng gati bpuu tarlae'
- coconut and turmeric curry of mud crab with southern limes This
curry from the southern provinces has a paste made from dried red
chili, red turmeric, shrimp paste and red shallots. It is rich,
salty, slightly sweet and sour.
The restaurant opens for dinner only from 07.00 pm. - 10.00 pm.
Glow
For light, healthful dining, the Metropolitan Bangkok offers a trailblazing
address for the Thai capital. Glow, located adjacent to our COMO Shambhala
Urban Escape, offers a menu based on our COMO Shambhala wellness cuisine.
Menus feature delicious meals, energizing juices and blends
rich in living enzymes, vitamins and minerals. This healthful slant
is in line with the COMO Shambhala menus available at all COMO properties.
Glow is also ideal for an any-hour meeting. Breakfast is served
daily from 6am to 11am, with all-day dining available from 11.00 am
to 9.00 pm.
Met Bar
Bangkok's Met Bar, reserved for hotel guests and members only, provides
an intimate, exclusive place to party late into the night.
From
4pm to 9pm, the Met Bar serves delectable Thai fare to a high-flying
crowd. At night, it morphs into a sultry, lounge-style members bar with
deep-club chairs and wine-dark walls.
Bar staff create innovative
cocktails while headline DJs spin eclectic lounge sounds from around
the world. All this is enjoyed under moody lighting and amidst the company
of like-minded sybarites
