Deluxe Garden Wing

Colonial style room, some have two levels with the bedroom above and a plush seating area below. Touches of old grandeur can be found inside, such as chandeliers and parquet floors.

The Deluxe rooms are newly renovated in a contemporary yet lavish style. Touches of the hotels long and illustrious heritage are still to be seen in the well-loved chandeliers, artwork and parquet flooring, all complemented by new armoires, ottomans and comfortable sofas, in a mix that is satisfyingly eclectic. The floor plan changes from room to room; some are split level, with a bedroom above and seating area below. All Deluxe rooms enjoy quiet river views, and some feature a private conservatory.

These rooms enjoy a strong flow of natural daylight, thanks to floor to ceiling windows and a balcony that partially overlooks the river. They also have a spacious seating area, with comfortable sofas and a coffee table. Throughout, the furnishings are Thai silk, harmoniously designed in neutral colours. Approximately 63 square meters/678 square feet.

Deluxe Suite

For over a century, some of the greatest writers have sought escape and inspiration by staying with us. These suites have been designed to reflect their personalities.

Located in the River Wing, these individually designed and decorated suites echo some of the greatest figures in literature, in their names, decor and ambience. Each suite reflects accents of the authors personality.

All feature floor to ceiling windows, a balcony, spacious sitting room, a large bathroom with separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a powder room off the living room; many also have a walk-in closet.

Fresh flowers and fruit are delivered to your suite daily, and you have the services of your own personal butler. Approximately 92 square meters/985 square feet.

This restaurant is nestled beside the lush tropical gardens of the Authors Lounge. Take your seat outside on its marble terrace and you can dine on the finest Italian fare, including the tastiest pizzas made in our own wood-fired oven and a variety of home-made pasta. To accompany it, choose from the freshest salads, with the sweetest ice creams to follow.

But whatever your selection, you can enjoy it against the breathtaking backdrop of the starlit river.

The Regency Room - Originally the lobby where one could watch the world go by, the Regency Rooms were also recently restored to their former elegance. Hand-woven Thai silk panels in a turn-of-the-century French pattern now adorn the walls, while the French windows look out on to the cool and inviting Authors Terrace.

The focal point of the Regency Rooms is the ornate, full length mirrors at either end, reflecting the warm glow of the two hand-cut crystal chandeliers. The rooms elegance and intimacy is further enhanced by the comfortable sofas and chairs, decorated with gold fabric. They are set out to resemble a living room, or can be re-arranged for private cocktails and dinners.
