About the hotel: Overall it was a good experience. The hotel is far from Ching Rai and is isolated so you have to stay at the hotel or take expensive taxis/tours.
Pros
Rooms were nice, comportable, clean. Aircon, nice bathrooms, comfortble beds, in room safe, free drinking water, two patios, quiet. Nice Thai style.
The grounds were very nice, lots of flowers and green, property well maintained and very beautiful.Lots of fountains, bridges, fruit trees.
Staff was good, minimal english but enogh to get by. They were friendly, helpful, good service.
Lots of things to do at the hotel - restaraunt with good live music at night, a nice fill service spa (but expensive), nice big pool, cooking classes and sightseeing tours (also expensive).
Cons
Both the breakfast and evening buffets were limited, western food only and monotonous. It would be good to add some Thai food to the offering or some variety.
The staff was helpful but not very knowledgeable about local sightseeing.
Food service at the fool was difficult. I had to go into the restaraunt to ask. The nice pool bar was never staffed.
The jacuzzi was broken.
Overall, a nice Thai experince in a comfortable, relaxed, beautiful setting with good service and a lot of amenities.
About the reservation service: Very fast and efficient. I booked it and had confirmation within a day. It was accurate and no surprises.

The Golden Pine Resort and Spa situated in the midst of rolling countryside and
surrounded by Paddy Fields which, at harvesting time, resemble a
vast ocean of gold. The Resort's location is just 10 minutes from
the International airport and 25 minutes from Chiang Rai town.
The Golden Pine Resort consists of 80 beautifully designed
cottages located in the heart of the Lanna countryside. The site was
previously a rural village and is surrounded by Rice Fields on
either side. The perception of tranquility is enhanced by the
backdrop of distant mist enshrouded hills which are the beginning of
the vast Himalaya Range.
A total of eighty self contained cottages are constructed in
such a way a to blend seamlessly with the unspool Lanna
countryside, each one having a front and rear veranda with a bench
set. In the centre is an extremely attractive swimming pool complete
with Jacuzzi and graced by a Mermaid in tireless attendance. The use
of local timbers enhance the interior of each Cottage which consists

The Sang Chan Restaurant - - features
International and Thai Cuisine as well as light meals in the
