The
Library Project is a new conceptual resort located in the heart of
Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui. The project was originated by Kasemtham
Sornsong, a land owner, to develop an inherited piece of land to be
more efficient as well as preserve existing nature as much as
possible.
With his passionate in hospitality industry, proven by a
success of his first Spa, Four Seasons Tropical Spa, together with
his strong intention to start up his own resort to fulfill his
dream. Consequently, after the Spa has reached to a stable stage, he
teamed up with his consultants establishing the project.
The piece of land is approx. 4
Rais or 6,400 square metres with 50-metre beachfront area. Apart
from an idea to preserve existing nature on the site, the project
was inspired by the basic way of life and our belief that ‘ the real
happiness is not complicated at
all’.
At every beach
destination, you may notice that number of tourists/travelers lie
down on the beach, sun-bathing, reading their books or you will see
pocket books in their beach bags or on the mattresses. That behavior
is so simple, easy-going and giving a feeling of free and
relaxation. These activities are our inspiration and become our
ideal concept to build a smart-relaxing place where guests can
indulge in a very unique atmosphere to actualize their holiday
experience. And that’s how ‘The Library’ came into our
mind.
'An Exotic
Smart Concept' is a conclusion of our
project design. Semi-mininalist architecture is our solution as it
provides a very simple architecture and interior which has a
balance with surrounding
nature. To complement with architecture style, a smart interactive
between staff and guests is added up to ensure that the right
combination of both facilities and staff will create a perfect blend
of the project.
As
for atmosphere within the Project, we set a tone of feeling to be a
cool smart-relaxing place with attractive appearance and interesting
theme. Green from grass in our garden decorated with art pieces and
sculptures will be key element for our landscape. White theme of the
building by the beach, a vivid red swimming pool overlooking to the
sea and grey tone of the Restaurant – these are visualized overview
concept of the Project.
Highlight of
the project is ‘The Library Building’ located by the beach named
itself after the project’s title. The White building with high huge
ceiling equipped with glass window pane all around will enrich
purity, serenity and peace.
The Library Building consists of
three box-style units adjoining together where the middle box is an
open-air serving as a mini-cafe.
The other two boxes are
the huge library for not only books but also other entertainment
media such as music CD, movie DVD. In addition, there will be a
small corner for internet access with broadband connection. Guests
will enjoy sipping a cup of coffee, writing e-mail, listening to
music with sea views.
Our concept is to divide space equally between
outdoor and indoor in both horizontal and vertical way. This idea
was stemmed from simple concept that when holiday, people prefer to
spend more time out in the open rather than staying in an
air-conditioned box. Consequently, each building unit will be built
in a box style by emphasizing in increasing efficiency of space
utilization vertically and horizontally. We provide more outdoor and
open-air space in order to meet guests’ preference.
There are only 26 units of accommodation within 4 Rais
of land consisting of 13 Studio type and 13 Suites. Total area of
each unit is 68.50 sq.m for Studio and 76.50 sq.m for Suite. Every
room has a chance to get close to nature of tropical garden and
glimpse of sea views.

the ground floor to enhance tropical feel and touch. There is one
master bedroom of 25 sq.m., an open-air living area of 20 sq.m.
equipped with wooden shutter to allow sea breeze and wind to freely
blow into this area. A personal computer set with broadband
connection is provided on a writing table in living area. Whist a
bathroom area is approximately 19 sq.m. featured a Jacuzzi , rain
shower and dressing area. In front of each Suite, outdoor mattresses
are set aside serving as sun loungers for guests to enjoy
sun-bathing and reading during the day.
The Suite type is more
suitable for guests who prefer to stay close to the earth and
require suitable space to read and write during their stay.
is situated on the
upper floor of each accommodation unit. Total area is divided into
three area i.e. master bedroom with living corner, 15 sq.m. of
balcony , and bathroom with dressing area. Lively tone of colors of
fabric works in our interior design aimed to enhance the ambience
pleasure. We believe that young couples or honeymooners will feel
relax and cozy with this room type.
Each room can enjoy a
glimpse of sea view as well as tropical garden and a shade of high
huge old trees.

Every unit is
thoughtfully designed and focused in providing space in order to
giving a chance to our guests to stay closer to nature i.e. feel and
touch the breeze, smell the earth after the rain. This is our aim to
revoke and refresh inner spirit of the guests.
Swimming
Pool Red tone of Italian mosaic will be placed for a 20.0 x 12.0 metre pool situated between The Library Building and The Restaurant along the 50-metre beachfront. Surrounding space at the pool area is wooden deck with a suitable number of sun loungers scattered around.
Drop-off
area / Greeting area Luckily that existing nature assist us in designing the building. Two adjoining units are therefore carefully designed to embrace a group of high huge old trees. This open-air area is served as a drop-off area to greet and meet guests upon arrival and departure.
Guests will feel refresh by tropical touch when they walk into this area whilst cool and chilled-out music and our team will keep them company. Our Guest Service Agent team will give you a warm welcome and farewell as well as assist you in arranging daily activities and providing you information.
The Restaurant An outlet is
divided into two zones i.e. air-conditioned and open-air area
serving as an all-day dining restaurant and a bar located by the
beach. A space of a wine cellar is dedicated in air-conditioned area
with good selection of wines around the world. The restaurant will
be starting from freshly made breakfast, a light to casual lunch
whilst dinner will be predominantly Western and Thai cuisines.
Special theme night will be arranged from time to time subject to
fresh ingredient available in each season.
Fitness This unit has a 270
degree of sea views through glass windows, equipped with modern
exercise machines. The Fitness is located next to The Library
Building by the beach to allow guests to enjoy sea views and

The Library located in
the rather lively resort on Chaweng beach surrounded by numerous
restaurant alternatives, shops and probably just a few bars. The
Airport is only 15 minutes drive away.
